ARTISTIC DIRECTOR - The Answer to Everything
As Associate Artistic Director of Streetwise Opera (2011-2013), Emma concieved, wrote and directed the film opera project The Answer To Everything in collaboration with film director Rupert Jones, producer Jess Gormley and writer Joanna Coates.
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR - Fables – A Film Opera
a major project for Streetwise Opera premiered in Dec 2010. This involved artistic leadership of the making of four short opera films and creating a live performance for the premiere with 125 performers who had experienced homelessness.
DIRECTOR - My Secret Heart
ground-breaking sound and video installation by Mira Calix and Flat E. Directed live performance and movement with chorus of 80 homeless participants. Performed in Lucerne, Switzerland and at Royal Festival Hall Ballroom, London 2008.
DIRECTOR -Critical Mass (devised Gough/Bernard)
set in a conference of world leaders, political rhetoric is overwhelmed by choral folk songs. Performed by 16 professional singers (The Shout) and 30 homeless participants at Almeida Theatre in 2007.
